Embracing the heart of San Francisco’s historic Fillmore District, the ‘Spirit of the Fillmore’ mural is a community-driven project that adorns all sides of the Rosa Parks Senior Center. Created in close collaboration with local residents, this mural serves as a vibrant celebration of the area’s rich cultural and musical heritage.

In recognition of its impact, the project was honored with the Mayor’s Neighborhood Endowment Network Award in 2020, presented by Mayor London Breed. The mural not only beautifies the senior center but also acts as a living testament to the community’s resilience and creativity. Through this award-winning, community-centric project, BAMP continues its mission to create public art that engages, educates, and unites communities.
